How to Reach Tyrol

Although Innsbruck airport is a small local one, it offers good connections with the major European destinations ((Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Graz, Göteborg, Hannover, London, Paris, Stavanger, Vienna) with straight flights or through interchanges in the main capitals.

From the airport to the city

Bus
The airport is located 14 km from the city centre. A service is available which connects the airport terminal with the city centre in about 20 minutes. Bus rides (line F), leave every 15 minutes.

Train

The train station is located in the middle of the city. Although buses and taxi are available, consider that the old town is 15 minutes walk from the station.

 

Car
You enter Innsbruck from Italy via the Brennero tunnel (highway A22 or state road 12).


Important warning
To travel on Austrian routes you need to purchase an adhesive e called "vignette", which allows you to transit on any state road and auto route inside the country. The adhesive is available at the borders, at the cost of 5 Euro per week.
